Frequently asked questions

How do I find an AS9100 machine shop in Southern California?+

Open the directory, choose "CNC machining", tick AS9100 and the capabilities your part needs (for example 5-axis or tight tolerance). Every result shows whether a current certificate is on file or only claimed.

What is the difference between AS9100 and Nadcap?+

AS9100 certifies a company’s overall aerospace quality management system. Nadcap accredits specific special processes — such as anodizing, heat treating or NDT — so buyers check Nadcap for outside processors and AS9100 for machine shops.

What do "cert on file" and "claimed" mean?+

Cert on file means we read a current, unexpired certificate posted by the supplier, and the listing shows its number, issuer and expiry. Claimed means the supplier states the certification on its website but no current certificate was found. Expired certificates are not counted. For a PO, confirm status in OASIS (AS9100) or eAuditNet (Nadcap).

Is it free to send an RFQ?+

Yes. Buyers send one request and it goes only to suppliers that match the process and certifications required.
